Even as an adult, it is our Inner Child that determines our thoughts, feelings and actions.
Many of the hurts and struggles that we feel and experience today have their roots deep in the past. The way we relate to others is patterned on the relationships of childhood. An important aspect of the healing process is when we can connect the feelings of the present day with the experiences of the past.
Many of us believe that our childhood was ok and yet deny our wounds, or say that everything was our fault. There may be a part within us that believes it is disloyal to complain, yet there is a part within us that can seethe in anger, resentment, guilt, unworthiness or unforgiveness.
I have found during the researching process with clients that many are coming up with Inner Child archetypes which need to be cleared.
This Inner Child work using Spiritual Response Therapy (SRT), is about finding the lost child and taking away her false face. We all have stories to tell, wounds that are in need of healing, burdens that need to be laid down so that we can be free, to love ourselves and believe in our own power to be fully alive. It is the Truth that will set us free.
Spiritual Response Therapy will get to the root of the problem so that we can choose to lay the heavy burden down and be free to accept the possibility for change and the spiritual renewal that SRT offers. By the end of the work we are able to reassign the responsibility of our woundedness, in a proper manner, to our parents, though, with understanding, acceptance, and more often than not with forgiveness. Only then can we be ready to create a new life.
